Chapter 3

Selene's POV

"Please don't kill me, please Katrina! Ahhh!!" I woke up abruptly. My heart was racing, and my body was shaking like I was having an attack.

I looked around and I was in an unfamiliar place, I quickly touched my chest, to check if the scar Katrina left was still there, but I found nothing.

I exhaled loudly, as I breathed in as I tried to stabilize myself. "Oh, thank Nyx, it was just a dream" I whispered, as I closed my eyes, my head relaxed at the bed stand.

My eyes widened in realization.

"Where am I?" Just then the door opened and a lady wearing white walked in. My mouth opened in surprise at how beautiful she looked.

Her hair was silver in color and her eyes matched her hair. She wore a flow white gown that glittered with every step she took.

"Who are you?" That was the only question on my mind. I didn't feel the need to fight or like I was in danger, instead I felt like she was my mother.

"Welcome back Selene!" She spoke and her voice was as calm as water.

I looked around "Welcome back? To where?" I asked curiously.

She smiled, "Back home my daughter!"

I froze.

That's not possible, I left home when I was escaping. What did she mean? What was she talking about? How did I get here and where is my stuff?

"All your questions will be answered in due time, but your journey has not ended, that's why you are you." The lady said to me.

"Ended? Wait, did I die?" I asked her and she nodded her head in confirmation, "So what I saw was not a dream?".

"My daughter!"

"Okay, wait... you are calling me your daughter and I barely know you. Plus, you don't want to be associated with me I promise you." I warned her, trying to avoid any more harsh treatment.

"Why is that?" The lady asked.

"Because I'm weak!" I responded.

She gave a questioning look " That's not true. No offspring of mine is weak."

I stared at the beautiful woman who kept calling me her child, "who are you?" And if I'm deaf as you say, shouldn't I be un the gates of judgment like the elders say?"

She laughed slightly, and it sounded beautiful "Yes, you should be but I brought you here. Your journey has not ended my child, you need to fulfill the prophecy!"

"Prophecy? What prophecy?" I asked her.

She stared into space, her eyes distant as her mouth spoke, "There would come a time when the offspring of Nxy would rule over the wolves and defect the impending evil threatening to wipe out her creation." When she was done, her eyes moved back to me.

"Wait, I have heard that before but people always said the offspring of Nyx would come from a powerful bloodline," I said to her

"You are from a powerful bloodline, my child!" She said to me and it all clicked.

"My child? You are Nyx? The Moon goddess and creator, Nyx?" I asked and she nodded.

My eyes widened as I got up from the bed and immediately knelt on the floor, my head also touching the floor.

"Forgive me, Her Majesty! I had no idea who you were!" I said with my head bowed.

"Rise, my child." She said as I stood up, keeping a distance.

She is so pure

"My child, your mission has not finished, you have to go back and complete it."

"BBut...but I'm just a weak omega. What can I possibly do?" I asked, my head bowed in shame.

"Selene, my daughter, you are not weak. You have the power of your mother flowing through you and you would do amazing things with my infinite wisdom in you." The Moon Goddess gave me some encouragement, I was doubtful but who am I to say no to the Goddess of creation?

"I will try my best, your highness." I exhaled.

"That's all I need to know. Now time is running out, we must get you back to earth before the portal closes....lay down." She commanded as I laid back down.

She blew an invisible substance at me and I began to feel sleepy, my eyes closing gently and before I could sleep off totally, I heard a sweet voice saying one last thing. "Be brave....my child ".

It was dark after that and then a door appeared in front of me. I walked to the door and pulled it open. I couldn't tell what was on the other side of the door because it was all white.

I walked through the door, confused about where I was going but I kept on walking. A few minutes later, in the void, I came across a wolf bigger than any wolf I had met.

It lay dormant with chains on its neck and just then a voice whispered to me.

"YOU ARE ONE!"

And immediately the eyes of the wolf opened. It had silver eyes, like Nyx. Something began to pull me towards it as I held out my hand. I got closer and placed my hands on its head and immediately the chains holding it broke.

The wolf howled and white bright light appeared transforming it into a ball of light. The ball of light shot towards me and hit my chest. It was not painful but I could feel a lot of things happening to me.

Then I heard a voice inside my head.

"Welcome Selene." It was Nyx's voice.

"Now it's time to wake up!" The voice said and the ground opened instantly as I dropped down. I was screaming so loudly as I fell with no sign of stopping.

I screamed until my lungs burned, but the fall seemed to go on forever. Just when I thought I couldn't take it anymore. I finally landed on a soft, grassy surface.

I lay there, disoriented, trying to catch my breath. As I looked around, I realized that I was in a completely unfamiliar place. The trees, the rocks, the smell of the air... everything was different.

I sat up, trying to get my bearings. I was in a place, surrounded by tall trees that seemed to stretch up to the sky. A small stream was at the place.

But as u looked around I realised that I was not alone. A figure emerged from the trees, a tall imposing man with intimidating yellow eyes.

He walked towards me, his aura powerful. I could sense his strength, his dominance sent a chill than shiver my spine.

"Who are you?" I asked.

The man smiled, his eyes filled with amusement. "I am Lucian, Alpha of the Shadow Pack," he said. "And you, little one, are a mystery."

I swallowed hard, trying to process what was happening. I had been sent back to the mortal world, but I had no idea where I was or how I had gotten here.

But as I looked into Lucian’s eyes, I felt like I recognized him. I knew that I was in the presence of a powerful Alpha, one who could help me unlock the secrets of my past and fulfill the prophecy Nyx spoke of.

"Welcome to the Shadow pack," Lucian said his voice bold and firm. "You're going to fit in just fine here.”
