AMELIA I missed celebrating Christmas. My parents always made a huge effort to set up the right atmosphere for unforgettable memories. In our blood ran a mixture of various nations – my dad was an Irish Canadian while my mom’s relatives came from Slavic countries in the heart of Europe – Czechia, Slovakia, and Poland. I was proud of my origins and always appreciated all the traditions my parents shared with me. Christmas Eve was therefore a cultural thing for us.
