For the first time in a long time, I wept. I always shed one or two tears whenever she beat or hit Grace, but this time I felt vulnerable . The omegas treated me with disdain, they dragged me to the bathroom. I looked up at them. One of them was the girl from earlier. She smirked at me evil. Ava and Grace were nowhere to be found.
They splashed cold water all over me without taking off the dress, forcefully washed my face, then used a knife to tear the already torn dress. “What a shame!” I thought to myself, I really loved that dress.
My mind drifted back to the rogue Alpha, his silver orb kept pulling me in. “Why are they prepping me for him?” I thought to myself. Suddenly, I heard my wolf, Evelyn, talk. “To sell you,” she said, more like a whisper.
“We need to get out of here.” I heard her voice for the first time. It was calm and smooth to my ears. I fell in love with her immediately. I felt us bonding and our minds linking. I could hear her loud and clear, unlike the whimpers and whispers.
“ How are we going to do that? " I asked. “We…..” The pull on my scalp brought me back to reality. They were braiding my short hair. Grace braided my hair for me most times, so it was not exactly new, but it seems these omegas find joy in inflicting pain on me, so it is a bit tighter than usual.
When they were done, I looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes looked dull and dry like I had no life in me, but I looked pretty in the red dress that complimented my ginger hair. Grace has taken special care of my skin since I was little, and I appreciate it now. I look better than I feel.
The omega escorted me to what looked like a ballroom. There was no one there yet. I am guessing I have to wait for all of them. I was about to sit when one of them stopped me. “Luna asked you to await her arrival,” she said rudely.
“Just great!” I replied. Attending the meeting against my will is not enough, I have to stand. I thought to myself and chuckled. I looked around, and this place looked familiar.
{flash back}
“Mother!!!’” I ran after her. Five years old, I was running after my mother. She halted and I fell to her feet. “Mother, I am sorry,” I said, crying profusely. “What exactly are you sorry for?” she asked. She bent to my level, and looked me in the eyes.
I held her legs tightly, hoping she would pull me close and hug me. “You are not my daughter, you are the beast that killed my daughter,” she said, and pushed me off her, then walked away without looking at her back.
“Take her back to her room,” she told the Omega. “Mother!!!!!” I screamed,
“ I am sorry mother!” I yelled as they dragged me back to my room.
{end of flashback.}
“Belle.” I heard my mother calling me with an annoying high-pitched voice, jerking me back. “My girl, why are you standing there?” she asked as she walked up to me. I looked over at her. She was with my father, Ethan, and some other men.
She moved closer and hugged me. She whispered to my ear. “ You better not ruin this, come on, wear a pretty smile. ”
I forced a fake smile on my face.
“My name is Mirabelle,” I answered her. Still wearing the fake smile, I turned to face the men when my eyes met those silver orbs again. It felt like we were the only ones in the room.
He stared at me like he wanted to see my soul. “This is my child, Mirabelle.” My mother's high-pitched voice made me break eye contact. I bowed slightly as a form of courtesy. I didn’t know most of them and did not feel the need to greet anyone, but if I wanted peace I had to obey my mother.
The men except the silver eye bowed back before they all settled in, sitting on the dining seat. My father walked up to me and kissed me on my face without saying a word. He went to sit at the head of the table.
My mother sat beside him and gestured to me to sit in front of her, who was directly beside Ethan. That I was grateful for: I could sit beside someone I knew and was slightly comfortable with. The chefs and cooks began to display their special delicacies, which would have been fun to watch if not for the intense glare from my mother and the rogue alpha.
“Are you okay?” Ethan whispered to me, “You look tense.” He leaned a little bit to my side. I smiled forcefully. “How will I be?” I thought to myself. I nodded respectfully. The display seemed like it went on for hours when someone spoke out.
“Is the food meant to be displayed or eaten?” the rogue alpha said nonchalantly, sounding unimpressed. His voice is everything I imagined it to be, deep and rough.
“Finally, someone said what had been on my mind.” I muttered to myself, rolling my eyes, which did not go unnoticed by my mom and the rogue alpha.
“It seems the princess is also curious about that,” he said, drawing attention. My father looked at me before signaling to the chefs to serve the food.
He cleared his throat before talking. “Alpha Derek,” my father said calmly. “ Hmmm.. ”
"His name is Derek”, Evelyn {Mirabelle’s wolf} said sheepily. “We are so glad to have you in our midst,” he continued.
“Uhm…….” he stopped. I looked up at my father to see why he had stopped talking. He was looking at Alpha Derek, who was staring at me.
My father cleared his throat again. “Stop doing that!” Derek said without taking his eyes off me, “it is annoying.”
The aura that came with his tone was powerful, much more powerful than my father’s or any Alpha that has been here. I have always watched them from my window, but he is just different.
I looked at my parents as they succumbed to his request without their will. It was satisfying to watch someone stomp over them.
