What do you want? I managed to say, my voice barely above a whisper, fear washing over me like a tidal wave. The only thought that kept ringing in my head was that he was back—to kill me. “You are mine, Daciana, and you can’t run away from me,” he said, walking closer. I kept backing away as he approached, until my back hit the closet. That was it. I was trapped. Tears were already flowing freely down my cheeks. “I can never be yours!” I screamed, just before everything went black and I collapsed into his arms. My eyes snapped open, my face damp with sweat. For a moment, I thought it had all been a terrible dream—until I realized I wasn’t in my room. The bed beneath me was wide and plush, covered with a white blanket embroidered with red flowers. A sparkling light glimmered above me
