all hail the new dragon queen

Will I covered my eyes as I rushed to the training room, I was late for the afternoon lesson with ash. f**k the sun for hurting my eyes and f**k me for drinking so much last night. Instead of waking up next to a hot girl like I intended to do last night, I woke up to my sister and Em painting my nails. I opened the door expecting to see ash waiting for me where she always did but she wasn't there. Can today get any worse, now I have to hunt down the silly earthling and drag her back here. Hmm, actually that sounds kind of fun. I stretched my arms above my head and grinned, I cast a tracking spell that I use when going hunting, all you gotta do is imagine what you are hunting and it shows you where it is. It's a spell that only elves like me or half-elves like Lilly can cast. Everyone has a magic type they belong to based on ancestry, what made ash so special is that she doesn't have the same restrictions as the rest of us do, she is a dragon decedent, dragons are our leaders they are our queens our kings. They can't be matched in magic and it was honestly frightening how powerful Ash was getting, but she still couldn't take on Breeana. My magic made the connection to ash snapping me out of my train of thought, she was sitting in front of the fountain in the garden. The image hadn't even started to fade before I was off running at my full supernatural speed. I made it to the fountain in about a min stopping right in front of ash. I watched the shock of me appearing in front of her before I grabbed her and threw her over my shoulder and sped back to the training room. I tossed her onto the soft mats we had laid in the corner of the room for today's exercise. I scowled at her ready for her usual fiery self, but something was off, she wasn't looking at me at all. “Hey why weren't you here when I showed up” I gently asked while kneeling in front of her and lifting her chin so I could look at her beautiful gold eyes. She still refused to look me in my eyes, she kept looking slightly off to the side of my eyes. “You were an hour late I didn't think you were coming.” I couldn't help but stare at the way her lips moved when she whispered her response. I closed my eyes and shook my head. No, I can't think that way. I can't get distracted, I can't distract her. She will be a queen someday and all I will ever be is the leader of an extinct clan. I jerked my hand back from where it laid under her chin and stood with a cold expression. “ don't try to skip lessons again. Or did you forget that you have a war to help us win?” I said, my voice dripping with venom. She looked at me with those piercing eyes, before standing up and nodding sheepishly. I led her to the center of one of the large mats and Em laid out a couple of weeks ago when Ember started hand to hand combat lessons. “ Ok, today we Are Going to be practicing your transformation into your dragon form.” I paused to see her shocked expression. I grinned before continuing “so to start I'm going to need you to activate your own magic today. I know you can do it yourself.” I said smugly knowing she would have questions about being a dragon. She stood there with wide eyes just staring at me. I think she might have gone into shock. I just stood there awkwardly waiting for her to respond, but to my surprise, she started laughing  “ ok, I think you have lost your mind. There is no way that I can turn into a dragon” she blurted out between her chimes like laughs. I shook my head how did she not know. I mean everyone can tell from her eyes. Dragons had unnatural eye colors, golds, purples, and sometimes even multicolored eyes. Sure all supernaturals have unnatural eyes but usually in the shape of our pupils or just by how bright they were, it's why most of us could pass as human. I'm not sure how ash even managed to pass as a human when her eyes were always glowing with power.  “ oh ya. Do you want to bet,” I said, gaining her attention again. She hesitated to before huffing and accepting my challenge “Ok fine say I'm a dragon,” she said in a sarcastic tone “how would I transform?” she questioned looking at me with a cocky smile that made only one side of her mouth go up in a slight smile. I walked over to her and slid my hand down her arm and pulled her hand towards me  “I need you to activate your powers,” I said in a husky voice. I loved the way she blushed whenever I spoke to her like that. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. I would never get tired of watching her use her magic slowly, her hair floated off her shoulders as a warm golden flame surrounded her body. I let go of her hand now engulfed and got far enough away so that when she transformed I wouldn't be in the way. ``I now need you to focus on where you feel your power coming from,” I paused, giving her time to complete the task I had given her. “ did you find it? '' I questioned her. Ash gave me a strained nod so she didn't break her concentration  “ good” I purred at her “ you should feel a stronger pull of magic hidden in you. It's the source of your power, right now you can only use a fraction of your power the rest is dormant inside you. All you have to do is wake up the dragon.” I chuckled at my own pun before going quiet waiting in anticipation for her to start her first change. It was subtle at first but the room was gradually becoming brighter. It was amazing one second Ash was standing there the next she burst into a golden dragon made entirely of light. She was long and slender with what looked to be bright red feathers that framed her dragon's head; it looked like a crown. The amount of power following from her brought me to my knees. She was light heat and life all in one. Then she spread her wings made of dripping gold flames and let out a deafening roar that shook the walls of the underground hideout. Now everyone would know there was another dragon in Aislinn, and that she was ready to finish a war.
