Danielle’s POV
I rejected him because he’s an asshole who stole my virginity and my innocence. So why the hell is he here?
“Dad?” I scrunch my brows, watching Alpha Kaden walk in. His head nearly hitting the door with how tall he was. He towered over us, including my father.
I whip to him. “What is this?”
“This,” my Dad gestured both of us to sit. He continued, “Is a negotiation.”
I shake my head in refusal.
“Alpha Viktor,” Kaden spoke, yet I kept my eyes fixed on my father.
“Thank you for the invitation.”
“You know what this means,” My father says, repeating the same words Kaden said in the phone with him. My brows furrowed tighter. Clearly, I am the only one left out.
“Can you please tell me what is happening?” I ask, frustrated that my Dad will leave me out such important information that would have to require him to invite his biggest rival, Alpha Kaden, into our home.
My father gestures for us to sit. Kaden takes his, and I huff before walking over the couch and plopping my ass as it bounced. I don’t want to be anywhere near him, especially after…
My wolf purred, reminding me of some scenarios where I could hear myself moaning. He lifted my ass in the air before sliding his thick, heavy c**k and thrus—
Oh, goddess! I clench my thighs. I could already feel my arousal trying to squeeze between my legs and I am not having that. Not here. Not in front of Dad and especially not in front of him. Even now I could feel his warmth and those lips… There wasn’t an inch of me those lips haven’t claimed, making me shiver.
“Danielle, the reason why I called Alpha Kaden here is to propose a union.” Dad says, clasping his hands together in a calm manner, which is strange.
“What union?” I push off of the sofa, my brows pinched.
“Alpha Kaden and I discussed business and pack matters, coming into terms to the fact that you are mates,” he began. I’m blinking my eyes at Dad, while Kaden all but watches me with a cocky smirk tugging up his lips.
Raising my finger in the air before I point to Kaden’s pretty annoying face, I snap at my father in disbelief. “He’s not my mate. Not anymore, I rejected him.” I reveal, and my father’s eyes flashed dangerously as if I was crossing a line.
“Only on your side,” Kaden speaks, forcing me to break my eye contact with Dad.
“Haven’t accepted, remember?” then he smiles and damn it, I felt like melting in his wonderful, onyx eyes.
“Well then, now that is all settled, let’s talk about your marriage.”
My eyes instantly dart to my father, “Marriage?”
“Mates are inevitably bound to be wed, and you are mates,”
My lips quiver and blood boils in heated anger, shock, and dismay.
“Dad, what are you doing? You HATE him!” I shot at him.
My father’s fists clench by his sides, his body trembling in his own anger yet, I will not back down. I want to understand why he’s pushing me to marry Alpha Kaden, the same man he loathed the most.
“Apparently, your father has chosen to turn his back on prejudices, and think of a better future for you and the pack,”
I shoot a glare at Kaden, the man is too self-absorbed with himself he can’t even read the damn room.
“I didn’t ask you,” I say sarcastically.
“Elle!” Dad’s voice booms leaving a ringing in my ear.
He sighs, stepping forward to me.
“The pack is dwindling, Elle. We need help.” He says. I scoff.
“And you think this is the solution?”
“No, but this is fate’s doing.”
I bite my lip, looking at him in utter disbelief.
“If this is about you travelling, you still can, if Alpha Kaden here allows you to,”
I all but scoffed. So not only is he forcing my hand, I also have to depend on him for every decision I want to make.
I cannot believe my father, who used to talk down on him because of their differences is now selling me off to save his own pack.
“Listen to your father, mate,” Kaden’s voice reaches my ears. I clench my fists.
I made my decision.
“No, I won’t go through with it,” I say, finality tinged in my voice.
“Danielle!” my father bellows, losing his patience.
I stand my ground, looking at my father head-on.
“I won’t get married to him. No one can force me to do so,” I say.
With that, I turn on my heel, leaving the two to settle whatever they need that don’t involve me in it.
I was in the shower, stepping in for the second time. I feel gross, and sticky. What is more I wanted to remove the stench he left and the feel of his calloused fingers pressing into my skin. His scent was so strong in the room I thought I had just imagined it, when I left all I could smell, feel, taste, is him.
Bloody bastard left his scent all over me and walks into my home only to force my hand in marriage. And for what? An alliance?
I noticed a few things these couple of weeks with the pack running out of supplies and all. Believe me, I tried to talk to Dad about it, but he hid the truth from me, lying about the pack being fine and all, when it’s not.
I grit my teeth, and punch the first thing I see, which happens to be the bathroom wall.
A groan instantly escapes my lips as the impact with my fists hurt. Should have said yes to those training sessions rather than escape them all the time. I sigh for the nth time, press my head against the wall as the water cascades all over me.
If he’d told me the pack is in trouble, I could have helped. If he only believed in me, I could have taken the position from him and focused on restoring the pack to its former glory. But no, he insists marriage is the only answer.
Not for me.
Tomorrow, I will talk him into giving me the Alpha position. I will make things better, if that meant proving I don’t need a buffed-up, self-righteous Alpha to save my own pack.
I can do this. I tell myself, determination coursing through my veins.
Shutting the water off, I move to grab a towel when I felt movement right behind me.
“Nice ass.”
