Third Person's POV
"Understood, Alpha Cliff," Elliot said to Melinda, "Miss Coleman, please come with me."
Melinda followed him out without fear.
As she left, she glanced at Brenda on the floor.
Brenda caught her look and instantly understood—betraying Melinda now would doom them both. She'd have to wait until Melinda became Mrs. Todd to regain her former status.
"Alpha Cliff," Brenda said with a hint of defiance, "what I said is the truth. I acted alone, with no one else involved."
"Excellent," Cliff remarked with a cold smile. "Lock her up. Let her out when she's ready to tell the truth."
"Yes, Alpha Cliff!" Several bodyguards seized Brenda's arms.
Though fear still lingered in her eyes, the thought of Melinda as a bargaining chip reignited her hope.
