Grace noticed my thoughtful expression and asked, "Did Cliff suspect you when you went back to the Silver Moon Packhouse today?"
"He did suspect me, but... it wasn't quite what I expected," I replied.
"What do you mean 'not quite what you expected'? Isn't suspicion just suspicion?" Grace hugged a pillow, her curiosity piqued as she waited for me to explain.
I said, "He gave me a ring today and said... he likes me."
After I finished, Grace was stunned. "Cliff?"
"Yes," I confirmed.
