Sabrina, sensing she had Vanya cornered, urged Melinda, "What's the story? Spill it."
"I'm not sure if it's true, but there were rumors in school... that Vanya had a sugar daddy."
"Sugar daddy?" Sabrina immediately sneered, "No wonder she's so pretty. So she really does this kind of thing."
"I'm telling you this because I trust you. Don't spread it. Just keep it to yourself," Melinda said.
"Rest assured, I won't breathe a word. I don't want to put you in a tough spot," Sabrina assured, eager to ingratiate herself with Melinda, the graduate student from Wolfe and Cliff's rumored link, now introduced by Evans himself.
Seeing Sabrina taken in by her tale, Melinda's lips curled in triumph.
