I got Sal out of sight and mind. Part of me is still sad that I’m all alone. Sal and I have been together for a long time I realized I didn’t know how to be single. After he left I packed my seasonings, food, utensils, everything I was planning to cook with anyway. With how bougie Pablo is I doubt he has tried my favorite snacks. I packed those too. Along with some clothes and shoes. When I was ready I started driving to Pablo’s house. It was about an hour and a half away.
Since it was getting late I emailed Pablo what my GPS says. He responded back saying, “Drive safe. Someone will be in the front to let you in. Buzz in when you arrive at the gate.”
“Damn. A gate and a buzzer? He’s mega rich. The rich people I used to do nails on didn’t have that.” I thought to myself.
I kept on driving, blasting music, and not giving a rats ass. I can only imagine how my new room is going to look, what amenities I’ll have, and what his house looks like. I’m happy that my life is getting the upgrade it deserves on someone else’s dime.
I looked up the apartment building Steph is staying in. It’s nice, bigger than mine, but it’s nothing I haven’t seen before. Just because it has fake granite countertops, hardwood floors, valet trash and mail doesn’t mean it’s luxury. The only amenities they had was a pool and a nicer lounge area. Some may think I’m jealous but I’m not. Whatever I’m about to walk into is going to be more than what Steph and Sal have going on.
My phone rang from an unknown number. I let it go to voicemail. “Probably a scam anyway.” Thinking to myself. My phone beeped. Someone left a voicemail.
“I know you’re stalking me. This is your warning. Leave me alone or watch what happens.” The voice sounded like someone used a filter to mask their real voice. I ignored the voicemail keeping it as evidence in case something strange starts happening.
Finally reaching the location. I pull up to the driveway with a big golden gate and a buzzer next to it. Parked my car, got out to push the buzzer, another voice on the other side said, “You can come through.” I got back into my car waiting for the gate to open then I continued driving until I reached the front of the mansion with a woman standing there. She came up to my window. “May I come in? I will show you where the employee parking is.” I unlocked the door and she climbed into the passenger seat.
“Continue driving then you will see a parking lot.” I continue driving until she tells me to stop. “Pick any spot you like.” I pick the closest one to the door assuming that’s where we’ll enter. I grabbed all of my stuff, “Do you need help?” She asked politely. I shook my head no. I followed her into the mansion. We entered the house. There were many employees moving around, cleaning, carrying things. I was shocked this is a glimpse of what I’m going to see.
I continued to follow the lady and she’s talking my ear off about how great Pablo is and how generous he is. I didn’t pay attention to what she’s saying. Taking it with a grain of rice. She walked me to the other side of the mansion. No one was on this side. It kind of scared me but at the same time I was glad I’m getting peace and quiet.
“This is your room.” The lady unlocked the door, giving me the key and left. I walked in to find everything I would need. There’s a mini fridge in there. It was like a bedroom apartment. A small kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and living room. I see why she was saying Pablo is generous.
As I put my food in the mini fridge someone knocked my door a few times. I quickly got up to open it. Pablo stood there. We made eye contact. “How do you like your new living arrangement?” I smiled and nodded, “It’s beautiful. I’m grateful.” I stepped aside allowing him to come in. “Let me give you a tour of the entire house.” I followed his lead closing the door behind me.
His mansion was spotless. I saw a few workers mopping the floor. “You have live in maids too?” I asked. He nodded. “Everyone here has worked for me for many years. Ask them any questions if you need help.” He shows me the main kitchen I’ll be working in. I open the fridge and it’s fully stocked with brands I never seen before. “Am I suppose to memorize these brands?” I asked. He shakes his head no. “I like to try new products. These are what I picked out for the next few weeks.”
I had a few ideas of what I could make him. “Everyday we must have something different.” That was his only request. After the tour he walked me back to my room and handed me my schedule. “I expect food to be ready at these hours and packed. After cooking all the meals you’re free to do anything you please.” He walked away after handing me my schedule.
He eats 6 small meals a day. This is going to be more challenging than I thought. I quickly got to brainstorming. It’s for him and his sister. I can make both of them the same meals. Scrolling online I decided to check Sal’s page. He gained thousands of followers from being tagged in Steph’s posts. They ate from a new sushi restaurant. Thinking about how he refuse to take me out and had me cook most of our relationship made me mad.
I just need to work for Pablo for as long as I can until I no longer need him. In the meantime I worked on as many online assignments as I could before falling asleep.
