19 The day after chemotherapy, Esther felt fine. Maybe chemo wasn’t going to be as bad as everyone said. But the second morning, she could barely lift her head. Someone had poured concrete over her during the night. A shower helped, but thank goodness she didn’t need to start work until Monday. She should be able to function by then. Meanwhile, she’d have to pace herself. She snoozed for several hours, then took her Bible and notebook out into the garden. Yesterday she’d read the beginning of Genesis. She jotted down things she noticed about people and God, then chewed over the applications to her life. The second and third chapters of Genesis were so full of treasures she spent two hours on them.
