Cody’s POV Pacing around my room, my mind is a whirlwind of emotion. I can’t fathom what’s going on right now. Emma called me, her voice so distressed that it sent a chill down my spine. I tried to understand what she was saying, but her words were a jumbled mess. Calling her back was futile; she didn’t answer any of my calls, and I was left with her voice mail. “I hope she doesn’t try something stupid, something that could cause problems for my father,” I mutter, my tone heavy with worry. The sudden ringing of my phone jolts me. Without checking the caller ID, I answer hastily. “What is the matter, Emma? Tell me what’s wrong,” I say urgently. There’s no immediate response. Finally, my father’s voice comes through, calm yet concerned. He asks if something is wrong and requests I meet him
