Ugly monster.

~Oreva~ I still can't believe I just witnessed such. Professor Roshan m**********g? The sight was so crude and intriguing. He made such an unholy sight look so....hot. Gosh! My cheeks are burning so red and I feel like digging up the earth to hide far beyond his reach because I doubt I'll ever be able to meet his gaze after today. One thing is certain; the memory of his veiny hands jerking himself off will live rent-free in my head for the rest of my already numbered days. I glance back at the staff building and grip my oxygen tank firmly as I run towards the gates with the wheels crankling behind me. I need to get off this premises before I die of embarrassment. Arielle is glancing at me inquisitively from the entrance of the cafeteria but I pay her no attention as I burst through the gates and flag down a taxi. My cheeks are so flushed, almost like a tomato. I settle in the backseat of the car and it gets in motion. I bury my face in my palm in an attempt to push back the thoughts but it keeps coming. Why was it so...... huge, thick and almost red? Why did those sounds give me goosebumps and why the hell was he doing that in the office? He could have used the damn restroom. I shouldn't be the one embarrassed but I am on the verge of melting. I notice the driver staring at me through the rear view mirror and I adjust in my seat to get away from his sight. my phone rings in my pocket, bringing me back to earth and I withdraw it to see a name blinking on my screen like a warning light. The short-lived excitement I've been feeling suddenly disappears and my chest tightens before I can even answer. I lift the phone to my ear and listen as the doctor speaks gently, but each word is like stepping barefoot on broken glass, a polite devastation for me. "Miss Hills, we've been quite patient but I'm sorry, you have less than a week to clear your outstanding debt, else we'll be forced to get your mum out of the ward." He ends the call, leaving me no chance to plead for time like I always do and reality finally dawns on me. I've been too distracted with things that do not matter that I forgot about my mother's condition. The bill the hospital issued is far beyond what I can shoulder and my step father has refused to pay for it, simply because I made his wife disrespect him. I wonder if he truly loves her like he claims because his actions always prove otherwise. The fact that he was somehow the cause of the accident makes me seeth with fury. My mum was only trying to help me escape back to school on the day he tried to offer me to the cursed Alpha of Howlers pack as a peace treaty and also to curry favour. A man who's believed to be a cursed monster, waiting for the day the moon goddess will end his cold and meaningless life. I still do not know what I've done to deserve such ill-treatment from my step father. I'm so engulfed in my thoughts that I do not realise the car has grounded to a halt before my step father's mansion. I rub off the ball of teardrops I didn't realise were rolling down my cheeks and pay the driver before alighting. My heart is heavy and the wave of emotions surging through me suddenly makes my vision blurry. The last time I pleaded with him to pay her hospital bills, it didn't end well. I ended up serving much punishment, just so I could eat.... but now? I am going against all odds. Even if he kills me. I get into the house and set my oxygen tank aside before going to knock on his study. He asks me to come in and I drop to my knees without hesitation, hoping he'll hear my plea and be merciful this time. "If you want me to do that, then you know what to do," He doesn't even lift his gaze to meet mine. He's rummaging through the files on his desk with a smug look on his face. "I do not know what you mean, Sir. "Don't play dumb with me, Eva. If you are ready to do what I want then I'll give you the money to treat your mother." "But she's your wife... You claimed to love her. What changed?" "That love died the moment she disobeyed me and put your feelings before mine. If you have nothing reasonable to say, leave my study!" "Alright.... What do you want me to do? I'm ready to do it but just don't let my mother die." "The Alpha's banquet is in a few days. He's organising it with hopes of finding a suitable companion. If you go with me and behave yourself, I'll be able to convince him to take you back. Right now, he's desperate to mark anyone so he doesn't really have a choice." I bite my lower lip, regretting why I came to this man in the first place. I should have known he'll always ask for something in return. After his failed first attempt to trade me to the monster, Alpha Fernandez, I thought he'd finally give up. I never knew he still haboured the crazy thoughts. "But sir, why me? Natalie is your daughter too... Why do I have to be the one to make the sacrifice?" Getting entangled with a man who deliberately incurred the wrath of the moon goddess isn't on my bucket list for the remaining days of my almost miserable life. Rumour has it that he doesn't look like a usual person. Some say he hides from the public because of his terrible looks while some say he's disfigured. "Shut up! You ungrateful b***h! All your life I've catered for you, knowing you were a bastard. Just this one favour I ask of you and you decide to play games with your mum?" He doesn't seize a moment to remind me of how I'm an offspring of a worthless human and how my mum cheated on him when she went to a human city for a project but mum's story has always been different. According to her, He rejected her because she wasn't from an influential family so she found love with my father when she was assigned to handle a project in a human city but unfortunately, he died and my stepfather came in search of her when she was already pregnant with me. Most times, I wish she never reconciled with him because this man is nothing but a heartless beast who cares about no one but himself. "My mum was just trying to protect her child. Every passionate mother would do the same. Why do you hate me this much?!" I am begining to lose it because his selfishness is appalling. "If you have nothing else to say, get out of my office. I have better things to do." He says and returns his gaze to his documents. Silence lingers between us for almost ten minutes and he keeps flipping through papers like no one is in the room. The warm fluid is begining to cloud my vision and my lungs is pleading for air after parting ways with my tank for a while. I get on my fit and wipe my tears, knowing this man will not change his mind even if I kneel forever. "Also know this is your last chance to get that money from me. If you don't make your decision now, you can forget about staying under my roof henceforth." "Is that how far you can go? This is not fair...." "Life itself is not fair. you have just 2 days to think about it. I need to call the beautician and others to make you look like a living thing." A silent snort leaves my lips after his statement and I twist the knob without hesitating. I pull the door and storm into the hallways, only to get startled by that one familiar figure. Her hands are folded on her chest and her lips spattered with disdain. "Did I just hear you wench mention my name in there?" "Natalie, I am your older sister. You should accord me some respect!" She bursts into laughter after my outburst and I lift my gaze, wondering what is funny. Her countenance is so annoying and it takes my last strand of self-control to not leave a slap on her cheek. "Older sister? Oh spare me that bullshit! A weakling like you can never be my sister! I have wolf blood running through my veins while you're just some miserable creature mum formed with a lowlife..." She spat with a scornful gaze and I scoffed. "He cooked up lies to make you hate your own mother and you are dancing to his tune? By the time you realize how stupid you are, it'll be too late." "Why should I care about her now when all she has always done is cater for you? You stole everything from me. Her love, her attention, my chance to get into Lunaris—" "I didn't steal anything from you..." I cut her off, unable to stand her spilling so much lies. "And secondly, you failed the entrance exam into Lunaris, so don't blame that on me. Talking about her love and attention, she wanted to shower it on you but you allowed yourself to be blinded by the lies he kept telling you. I don't have time to exchange words with you but I'll save my mother's life at all cost!" "Good luck trying to do that. You had better seize this opportunity to marry your ugly monster because I'm sure no one is going to marry you if you miss this opportunity," She scoffs and turns around, flipping her hair and swaying her hips. I watch her retreating figure as she gets into her room and I bawl my fists beside me. I am panting heavily, trying to recover my lost breath from the intense banter and my lungs are convulsing. I quickly hurry to grab my oxygen tank and connect the pipe to my nostrils before being able to breathe normally.
