DJ’s POV We all held our breaths as we watched them. CeCe was unmoving and oozing blood. Sasha with a hazed and crazed look in his eyes, that remained unblinking even as seconds ticked by. Only the Lycans around us seemed to lose some of the tension in their shoulders, but I wasn’t about to take anything for granted. “Does anyone want to go over there and see if he’s really dead or just faking it?” I asked, caution in my voice. And yeah, I was also standing unnaturally still, as if moving would somehow fling him back to life and the attack would start all over again. Disrespectful of the dead? Perhaps. Did I care at the moment? No! I was so NOT in the mood to get my ass chewed off by the bad guy, and if that meant I stepped over some boundaries, I did so with my freaking boots on! L
