“You never told me you had a mate,” Sergei accused, suddenly, looking from my mate to me.
“I didn’t know,” I replied truthfully and wasn’t surprised by the shocked expression on his face.
“You mean you didn’t you feel her being born?” he gaped, struggling to keep his voice low.

Lycans were connected to their mates from birth. Quite literally! Some could even sense their mates while she was still inside her mother’s womb if they were close enough. But the second a Lycan’s mate was born, you felt a pang in your chest – or at least that’s how they described it to me – and it left you with a yearning to find her. It almost acted like a compass, only easing the closer to your mate you got.
And nothing could separate a Lycan from his mate once he found her!
