Our waiter brought our menus to us, and McKayla slid her bags under the table and placed her phone in her purse. The mottled sky ranged from mid gray to dirty white. “What did he say?” Rena asked. “He said he likes me in or out of anything.” I giggled and closed out of the thread. “Brilynn, what are you going to get?” Rena said. At the mall, she had been standoffish, but I tried to include her in the conversation. “I’ll just have water,” Brilynn answered. “Did Adelina tell you she has the food catered for the wedding?” McKayla opened the menu. Rena talked to the waitress and gave her order. “Adelina is really supportive. I’m surprised both his parents haven’t pushed me away.
