“How did it go?” Sawyer smiled at Elizabeth as she entered the dining room but saw that she didn’t look happy and immediately knew it had not been a success.
“I expected more people to come. I thought they would be interested but it was just me and Selene until Elle showed up at the end.”
“Elle? You know, I should really hate her, but I am glad to hear that.”
“Why?”
“Her family used to be known for that stuff, it’s why they ended up with no status. When we stopped doing anything like that they ended up with no distinguishing skills and no position to hold.
