Sawyer had been right in his assumption that Shane and Mizuki had brought their daughter with them. The girl had been waiting in the car, but she was summoned into the house and the deal her parents had made for her to stay for a month was explained to her.
The teenager looked like a younger version of her mother with the exception of her darker skin tone which was apparently the only thing she had inherited from her father. She was only a year or two younger than Mina but they had led very different lives and Harper was clearly not interested in settling down the way many other girls her age were. It was a luxury afforded to her by her status; like Francesca, she wasn’t interested in finding someone of higher status to mate, because she was happy enough with the status she was born with.
