Elizabeth hadn’t known whether leaving Sawyer and Selene alone was the right decision, but what she had said to them before she left had helped him to regain some of his usual confidence.
He still didn’t feel like he was ready to face something so serious, but it was obvious that he had to take charge or risk things becoming chaotic and significantly more dangerous than they had to be.
He persuaded Selene that she should sit down, because she had started pacing and it was making him feel more tense. He was thinking clearly enough now that he was able to think about the best way to calm her down, and he chose to sit down beside her because she needed reminding that she was no longer an Omega, and that her position there meant the others would see her as a priority.
