Chapter 5

Not hesitating even a second, I walked over to him and said with tears in my eyes, “Hi.” From there, he pulled me into a hug. Shock, confusion, and happiness all were visible in his expression. “You’re alive.” Still, he only spoke in a few words. I nodded my head as I watched the tears escape his eyes, “H-How is this possible? We watched as you died and disappeared.” Chuckling and wiping the tears away from my own face, I responded, “I have no idea how it’s possible but I’m here now.” Taking a minute to calm myself down, I continued, “God. I’ve missed all of you so much these last couple of years.” “Have you been alive this entire time?” Alpha Greymark’s voice sounded almost hurt by this question, afraid of what my answer would be. I quickly shook my head, “Only the last year. I know, I should’ve come back here sooner but I didn’t know…” “Don’t say that.” He shook his head too, “I can understand why you didn’t. I may not know what you had to go through but I do know why you wouldn’t want to come back to this lifestyle. It’s not safe, especially for you.” “Where are the others?” I found myself asking more questions, “I really want to talk to them. See them.” “They’re all meeting over at the Town Hall. Why don’t we go there now?” Alpha Greymark smiled towards me but looked over at Pyre in confusion, “Who’s this?” “Pyre. She’s a good friend of mine.” I introduced the two of them, “Pyre, this is Alpha Greymark.” She didn’t say anything but smiled and nodded her head. “Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you. You’ll be more then welcome here.” He smiled back. Turning around, Alpha Greymark began walking to where the Town Hall would be, “Let’s go find the others.” Jay’s P.O.V What’s weird is that Alpha Greymark still wasn’t here. He told all of us to make sure we were early to the meeting and yet, he’s late. Looking over at Erin, I could tell something was bothering him. Either that or someone was trying to get a message to him. “Are you okay?” Rue beat me to ask him. He nodded his head but wouldn’t say anything. All of us knew this was his way of lying, “What’s going on?” “Do you know why your father’s not here yet?” Spencer cut in. Derek and Kai stood there wondering the same thing. He shook his head again but still didn’t say anything. Freya stepped into the conversation by saying, “He did say something about Marcel being here.” Klaus, Rebekah, Elijah, and Kol all looked at her in confusion, “No, I don’t know why he’s here… I’m guessing that’s why Alpha Greymark is late though.” ‘Son.’ Erin heard a voice say in his mind. I only knew this because of the expression he made. Not wanting to disturb him in any way, I took a step back to let him focus on the voice, ‘I’m heading to the Town Hall now but before I arrive, I need you to prepare everyone for something. I can’t say what but it does involve Marcel and another person.’ Erin looked back at me and hesitated, “He’s on his way now.” “What else did he say?” I found myself asking before anyone else had the chance. The way he hesitated to answer worried all of us. “My father told me to prepare all of you for something which involves Marcel and someone else. It didn’t sound bad.” Erin stated, trying to ease all of worry, “In fact, he seemed excited about it… I don’t know how I’m supposed to prepare you guys for it because I don’t know what it is.” “We’ll find out once he gets here.” Rebekah said. None of us knew what else to say so silence grew in the air. Whatever Alpha Greymark and Marcel wanted us to find out made us all go into our own little worlds. A million theories went through my mind. All the possibilities. Another ten minutes passed before Alpha Greymark walked through the door with Marcel. As for this other person Erin talked about, there wasn’t anyone else with them. “What’s going on?” Erin’s voice was laced with concern and curiosity. “I thought there was another person with you?” I found myself asking. All the others nodded there wondering the same thing but only Erin and I asked the questions. There was a smile clear on both of their faces. Only Alpha Greymark stepped closer to us, “Marcel and I have someone here we’d like for you all to see…” My heart pounded as I could sense two other people behind the door. One human. One… “Pyre, you two can come in here now.” Marcel said to the people behind them. I immediately looked over to Rue, seeing she could sense the same thing. Neither of us knew what to say but we did know what the other person was. A phoenix. Someone walked in next to Marcel, whom none of us recognized. But, as soon as the other girl did, we were all left stunned. Both Rue and I said at the same time before she came into full view, “Amara?” Everyone looked at us in confusion then looked over to Marcel and Alpha Greymark, where they saw her too. Amara’s P.O.V As much as I wanted to run over to everyone, my feet wouldn’t move. The twins were the first ones to realize it was me. Hearing my name from them made tears well up in my eyes. I couldn’t bring myself to take another step closer to them and they saw this. Both Rue and Jay walked over to me. The others. It seemed like they were too shocked to notice what was happening. Rue reached to hug me but something clicked inside of me. Fear. Stepping back, I shook my head and closed my eyes, “I-I can’t do this.” By the time I opened my eyes again, I was back at the waterfall. The same one Kai almost died at. Jay’s P.O.V “So… Amara’s alive.” Marcel said a few minutes after she disappeared. While everyone else was shocked by these events, Rue and I felt this need to go search for Amara again. Looking over to Rue, I said, “Should we go find her?” Rue nodded her head but looked over to Freya, “Do you want to help us? I know Amara would want to see her cousins first.” “Rebekah and I will. You guys, stay here and figure out what to tell the rest of the pack when we get back here with Amara.” Freya nodded her head while directing the rest of her sentence to the others. “There is one thing I can say we all know about her. Her magic.” Rue began to say, “If she teleported somewhere, it wouldn’t be just any place. It’d be somewhere she’s familiar with, maybe even a place she feels somewhat safe at.” I remembered one specific place when I heard her say this, “The waterfall!” Amara’s P.O.V All the moments I should’ve been looking forward to, this was the only one I wanted to not freak out on. Reuniting with everyone again. But, I guess life has to go a different way. “Why the hell did you do that?!” I said to myself full of anger and frustration. Wind picked up around me. The trees that surrounded the waterfall shook while the leaves fell from the branches. Everything seemed to be getting out of control. The only difference this time was I had no idea how to regain control over my magic. None of the ways I’d use to calm down were working for me. Feeling completely alone, I dropped to the ground. My powers slowly getting back under control. By the time I hit the ground, I felt myself blacking out. The only thing I wanted to do was let the darkness consume me. Kai’s P.O.V How could she do this to us? To me? She better have a damn good reason to why she never told us she was alive. Especially in those four years. Now, she comes back here?! Why? Then my mind began to drift to what just happened. What happened with her magic? I thought she had most of it undercontrol. Derek came running up behind me. After she disappeared, I walked out of the Town Hall and through the forest, “Try not to freak out, Kai. You already know she must’ve had her reasons.” “I know and I also understand why she didn’t say anything to us. But, doesn’t mean I’m not upset by it all.” I stated in annoyance and slight anger, “We had to go through four years of thinking she died. How could she do that to us?” “She wasn’t alive all four years apparently.” What he said made me look at him in confusion, “If you were paying attention to anything they were saying, Pyre told us she’s only been part of the living for the last year… I think you’re forgetting Amara died. Then came back. Her magic is clearly different, she might be different. And now, she’s disappeared again. We need to find her. So, what I’m asking is are you going to help or not?” “What type of question is that? Of course, I’ll help. But, I can’t guarantee I’ll forgive her right away.” I said in shock while walking with Derek now, “She’s still family and I do still love her. What’s the plan to find her?” “Freya and them are going to meet us somewhere and try some more spells.” Derek explained, “I’m think me, you, and the rest of the pack could go ahead to the waterfall. We already know that’s one of the main places Amara knows about. You in?” “I’ll meet you back at the gate.” I said in response. There was no way in hell would I not go help find her. Right now, I needed to clear my head, “How about in an hour?” “Take as much time as you need. You know where to find us.” Derek nodded then turned back towards the camp.
