“Stop that elevator!”
Sofia’s hands slammed against the console interface, fingers moving so fast the screen blurred under the pressure.
“Override… override… come on…” she begged.
ACCESS DENIED
The message flashed back at her. Cold and Final.
“Lets take the stairs,” Isabella barked without waiting, she ran like her life depended on it because waiting was no longer an option.
They ran on the concrete steps as their footsteps echoed. With every second that went by as they climbed, their breath burned fighting against seconds they were already losing.
Behind her, Sofia followed, still trying to break through the system remotely.
“He’s locked us out completely!” she called out. “I can’t seem to touch anything tied to the main hub!”
