No one moved or breathed because that smile….It wasn’t his.
“Lorenzo…” Isabella mouthed immediately she saw it, her voice came out barely above a whisper as if one wrong sound might shatter whatever was left of him.
He didn’t respond or even look at her. His eyes weren't thinking or searching instead… they were still.
“No…” she said slowly, shaking her head as her hands hovered over the console.
“That wasn’t an override interrupt…It was acceptance.”
Isabella’s heart dropped as the meaning of what Sofia had said dropped on her.
“What do you mean by… acceptance?”
Sofia didn’t want to say it but she did.
“The system didn’t break…It was completed.” her voice lowered.
The white glare faded as if confirming Sofia's word and was replaced by a clean interface.
