Chapter Nineteen
New Beginnings
The estate office was located in a converted summerhouse situated some fifty yards from the main building and separated from it by a line of trees. A gravel path linked the two buildings and immediately to the front of the office there was a further large gravel parking area and a driveway. The driveway led away from the buildings to a gateway in the hedge that surrounded the whole premises then out into the road beyond.
“This is well tucked away,” said Don as Anne walked with him from the main house to what was to become the former policeman’s new domain. “I knew it existed but, all the times I’ve been here, I’ve never actually seen it before.”
