Chapter 16

Anna pov

The Christmas holidays have arrived and for the first time in years, I will go on vacation. So did Lucas when we decided to go somewhere together. After much thought and much searching, we decided on Alaska. It may seem like a strange destination but Christmas and snow go together. We will go to the capital of Juneau and then we will explore the surrounding area. We are excited. We will sit for ten days and we intend to enjoy it.

"Baby are you ready? Before the airport, we have to go from Eliza to leave Fluffy." Yes, Fluffy will stay with his sister. She suggested that we spend some time together as a couple.

"I'm coming. I bring Fluffy's things." I go down and see him in his excursion clothes. Black pants, dark blue sweatshirt, Black jacket, and black sneakers. I played in the same colors, black jeans, khaki sweatshirts, black flat boots, and my black parka.

"I'm ready. Let's go." we get out I lock and we go to the car.

"I'm excited. Are you?" he asks me

"Very excited. I haven't been on holiday since my parents lived. We went to Florida it was the summer before I lost them." I say and he takes my hand and kisses it

"It would be nice to know them. They would have gone crazy with you." I tell him

"And if I judge by their daughter I would have loved them". After a while, we arrived in Eliza. The kids ran to get Fluffy and told me not to worry.

"Lucas when told me he got permission to go vacation I said I didn’t hear well. Before he met you, no break. not a single day was missing from the clinic. I'm glad he met you and you shook him a little," he says and we laughed

"Where is Jason?" Lucas asks. Jason is Eliza's husband, and he will take us to the airport.

"He's coming. He's in a hurry to leave." Eliza says the last thing so he doesn't hear. We laughed and that made Luke turn around with a frown.

"Ready guys, let's go. " I smile at him and manage to say something Lucas is saying

"We are fine. We will be late."

"The plane leaves in three hours, you catch up. Wow, you are in a hurry to be alone," says Eliza and we laughed. My baby, how sweet, wants the two of us to be alone. We got in the car and started for the airport. The journey was short, about fifteen minutes. We boarded and waited for takeoff. Lucas was holding my hand and we were looking at each other.

"And I have a long vacation. And I'm glad to go with you," he says

"I know. When we told your family we were going on vacation they were very surprised"

"To let you know what I do for you." I smile

"Now? You did not find the opportunity to go somewhere. With your previous relationships? "

“Those I had before you, I told you. They were trying to change who I am. They were upset when I had an emergency. They were constantly finding something to fight for. So in the end I didn’t want to take time with them and I ended the relationship. Before I met you I haven’t been in a relationship for over a year. I wanted to settle down. I was waiting for the ideal. And I found her." he takes a breath

" You are the only woman after a long time that to see you I leave work early, I go on trips, vacations. And I'm seriously thinking about cohabitation. "I swallow and look at it with wide eyes

"Luke?"

"You dont need to answer now. I'm just telling you what I'm thinking. I would like if everything goes well between us to take this step as well. " He smiles at me and he kisses me.

"If everything goes on as it does now, it would be perfect," I say and laugh at him. I hesitate to take this step yet, but if everything goes on as it is now which is perfect, staying together is the next logical step. Right? We hear the announcement of the take-off and Lucas takes my hand, kisses it, and looks at me with so much love in his eyes. They sparkle and that makes me so happy that I have someone to love me so much. He treats me with so much respect, understanding, patience, and love, that many times I feel that I do not deserve it. And his family welcomed me immediately with open arms.

"Baby, what do you think?" he wakes me from my thoughts. I smile at him.

" You just look at me with such love that sometimes I wonder if I deserve it" he caresses my cheek.

"You deserve it. And much more. You are a wonderful person and you do not know how blessed I feel that you came into my life." Lucas says and kisses me sweetly

"I love you. You dont know how much" I say and he kisses me again. I rest my head on his shoulder and we look out the window. My life is changing and I am grateful for that.
