Chapter 7

Lucas pov

I woke up with a smile today. It couldn't have gone better yesterday. Anna agreed to make an effort to be together. Today we arranged to go for lunch and then I'm thinking of giving her a mini-tour of the city. She told me yesterday that she hadn't seen much of the town. The moment I ate breakfast, I heard the phone ring. I see it's Will.

After hours I was finally done. I took a shower and got dressed. I put on black pants and a gray linen shirt. With Anna, I know I don't have to try hard. She likes whatever I wear. After getting ready, I left the house, got in the car, and started for Anna's house. For the first time, I felt so anxious, and it was supposed to be our second date. After a while, I arrive at her house, I send her a text that I am outside, and I am waiting for her. After a time, I see her open the front door and walking to me. Wow, she knows how to dress. She is wearing a mustard yellow top, pleated polka dot skirt, and red flats. Please don't ask me how I know. I grew up with a sister, and my mother always cared to teach us about fashion so that I could appreciate the way my wife dresses and flatter her. She always talks to me about that. However, to get back to Anna, she is lovely, and this yellow top makes a perfect combination with her ginger hair.

"Hello. You're wonderful. Your yellow suits you." I tell her as she gets into the car, and I kiss her on the cheek.

"Thank you. And you're perfect," she says, blushing. I start the car

"I will take you to my favorite restaurant, and then I'm going to take you on a tour of the city. You said yesterday that you haven't seen much."

"I haven't had time to see anything yet, with the school and the moving, I didn't have time. Just last week, I arranged the last boxes."

"That's why you have me. You will love the city, and most people are friendly."

"I know. Those I've met so far are very good." we chatted a bit until we got to the restaurant.

The girl at our reception showed us our table. She had pinned her gaze on me, but I could only see Anna. I was annoyed and saw how much she tried to hide it. I like that she is as jealous as I was when I saw the waiter looking at her. She was looking at the menu, and so she ignored the waiter. We ordered, and she asked me about Fluffy. During the distinction of food, we talked about her work, my work, and in general, we got to know each other better. The more I get to know her, the more I like her.

To leave the clinic and spend my day with Anna, imagine how interested I am. The meal went as I imagined. The same goes for the tour. I took her to my favorite cafe, to the park where I usually run, and then to ice cream to Mrs. Amelia, who has owned the store since I was a child. And, of course, when we left, she approved of Anna. I had no doubt. Anna is what I was looking for. The point is to understand this. I don't know what's wrong. Probably the i***t who had a relationship before made her feel that way. What an i***t, there is no more beautiful person than Anna. I have to be patient, and when she is ready, she will talk to me. Until then, all I have to do is show her how wonderful she is. I took her home and parked.

"Thank you. I had a great time. The city is charming. Especially the park."

"I'm glad this means we'll have you here for a while." she lowers her head

"Maybe. I have nowhere else to go. No one is waiting for me somewhere else. As I told you, I have lost my parents, and I have no other family or friends. Here I have begun to feel familiar, and I like it. I have new friends, especially Alice. The job is permanent, so I don't see any reason to leave. "

"I don't play a role in staying?" I say and do the sad puppy eyes. She laughs a little and tells me

"Of course. Even if it doesn't work out for us, I would like to have you in my life, even as a friend."

"I wish it worked between us because that's the only way I see you," I tell her and kiss her on the mouth. At first, she freezes, but then it reciprocates. I bite her lower lip a little, and she lets out a sigh, she opens her mouth, and I find an opportunity to put my tongue in her mouth. The kiss becomes passionate. We stayed like this for a while then, I cut the kiss to catch my breath. We touched our foreheads.

"See you. Call me when you have a break at school." if I don't stop, I will take her on the spot in the car

"Okay. Thank you for today. Good night." She says and kisses me on the lips

"Good night," I say with a smile. I'm waiting for her to in the house, and I'm leaving. How can I calm down now after this kiss?
