I turned to Garret. “I’m going after him,” I declared.
He studied me for a moment before nodding. I couldn’t get a read on him on how he felt about my decisions. But it shouldn’t matter. This was the first time I was being selfish. It was the first time I was taking something for myself.
I’d practically forced each of the pack members to be selfish at one point or another because I believed it was important. It was finally my turn.
“You know what I have found at each of the kill sites. Take the others to the sites, see if they can’t find anything I might have missed. Then, have Blade and Briar team up and visit the police. See if they can’t glean any useful information or evidence from them.”
