“We need to be careful. We don’t know what we are going to find or run into,” I cautioned.
When Adam had called earlier, I was afraid something terrible had happened. Come to find out, he’d had another vision. Not that that wasn’t bad in and of itself, but for me and my pack it was a good thing. It meant we had a chance to save a life and catch Valdis off his guard. I was sure he wouldn’t be expecting us so soon because he didn’t know about our secret weapon: Adam.
Valdis was becoming reckless again. His attacks were closer together. And, he probably believed striking again so soon after Viola would throw me off my game. That he could use her death against me somehow.
