~Four Years Later~ “Flight 101…. We regret to inform you that the flight has been delayed due to the weather. Please bear with us,” a female voice rang in the airport causing the passengers to murmur and get somewhat impatient. Xenia sat alongside her three kids with her hands on her thighs. The flight had been delayed twice now and it was almost past noon. She has been sitting here for almost four hours with her kids. This damn airport. They keep saying that they had checked the weather the previous day but it doesn't seem so now as the weather wasn't in a very good condition. “Mama, aren't we traveling anymore?” One of the kids asked. It was the only female among the three children, Alira. “Right! We have been sitting here for a while, mama. I'm sleepy.” “En… We should go home already.” “You three should be patient, hmm? We have to leave today,” Xenia answered, handing the three children a pack of chocolate bars each and watching as they gladly took it from her. Alira found it difficult to open her chocolate bar and her brothers offered at the same time. “Let me help you, Alira.” “Let me help you, Alira.” Her big round eyes looked from her first brother to her second brother and she contemplated on who to give the sachet of the bar chocolate to help her open it. Should she give her first brother or her second? “Hey, Alex. Let me help her today. You helped her all through yesterday,” the second brother complained. “I'll help her. I'm the big brother here, Alon. Give me, Alira. I'll help you.” Alon prevented the other brother from taking the pack of bar chocolate from their sister and frowned. “No. I'll help her. It's my turn.” “It's mine.” “It's mine.” The little girl’s eyes darted from the first brother to the second and giggled while crossing her legs like a princess. Perhaps, they were entertaining her, and she was enjoying every bit of it. She always likes it when her brothers fight to do things for her. “Shut up, both of you. Alira, give me, I'll help you,” Xenia glared at the two boys and collected the chocolate from Alira to help her with it. Who fights just to help someone? Right! Just her sons. If they weren't fighting for their sister’s love and affection, then they were fighting to help her with something. The way they doted on her was charming but at times it was annoying and Xenia thinks that they were spoiling her. Although they were triplets and born the same day, they treat her as if she was far younger than them and Alira loves it when they treat her that way. She would cross her legs like the little princess she was and order her brothers anyhow she likes. Well, they weren't complaining. Several hours later………. “Mommy, are there playgrounds in this city too?” Alex, the oldest kid, asked as they took their belongings. After several hours of sitting in the airport and waiting for the flight, they finally reached their destination and it was worth the wait as her kids were excited to explore the new city. This was the city that she had left four years ago. The memory was still fresh in her mind. She would be a liar if she says that she doesn't miss this city after all, it was where she grew up and had her first memories. She missed being here, her friends, her work, and everything she used to do. But she doesn't regret leaving. If she was asked to go back in time, she was going to do the same thing over and over again and leave this city after everything that happened. The best thing about leaving the city was meeting new people and having new opportunities. She had worked hard to be where she is today. Now, she owns a mall and would be relocating to this city soon. “Yes. I'll take you all to lots of playgrounds once we settle down. “ “Lira are you tired,” Alex asked. “Yes, Alira, are you?” The two of them ran forward and bend their head to look at their sister who was slightly shorter than them. They stared at her cute face, their hand patting her hair tied in cute piggy tails. Alira nodded. “You are? Do you want me to carry you piggyback?” That was from Alon. “I'll carry on my neck. Do you want that? It's going to be fun, come on,” Alex said. “I suggested it first.” “I'm taller than you. Alira would choose me.” “No plays now. Three of you, stay right there.” At their mother’s command, the kids paused and ceased their fights on who would carry the little girl who was having a great time, walking like a princess. “But Mama, Alira is tired,” Alex grumbled. “She's not. She's just acting lazy.” “She is,” Alon added. “Are you two going to fight your mother for your sister’s sake? Alira, look what you're doing.” The naughty little girl only giggled and leaned in on her brothers who wrapped their hands on her shoulders. Xenia sighed. These kids! She took her phone from her bag to call a cab and instructed the children to stay where they were. Just then, Alira saw a green butterfly which was her favorite color and her legs moved to chase the butterfly. She wanted to catch it and play with it. “Where is Alira going, let's follow her,” Alex whispered and their little foot moved to follow after their sister who chased the butterfly. After calling a cab, Xenia kept her phone in her bag and turned to ask the kids to move but her eyes widened when she didn't see them. “Wh…where are…” She gasped as her eyes scanned the whole environment but her children were nowhere to be found.
