Seeing Death
FRESH set of tears ran down Wendy’s cheek the moment she opened her eyes. She felt the aching pain all over her body. Her cheek felt sore because of the slap she received, and she knew she had some bruises in some parts of her body. But none of those physical pains were making her cry.
The walls were white, and the ceiling was high. The area was beaming, and yet it felt dull. She was covered with a white blanket, and underneath it, she was wearing a white gown. Even if she didn’t ask, it already gave her the answer where she was. With the atmosphere and the faint smell, she knew she was in the hospital.
Her eyes automatically searched for someone, for anyone. She badly needed to ask them one question: ‘Where is Kaiser?’ She felt
