14 The knock at the door to my room startles me out of deep thought. I have lists, reminders, and purchase receipts on my computer. There are so many tabs open on my internet browser, the hotel’s WiFi seems taxed to keep up with me. Each time I click on something it takes longer than the last time for the page to fully paint. I fling the door open wide and am pleasantly surprised to see Shay on the other side. He is holding a picnic basket and a folded blanket. “When you didn’t show up at the restaurant for lunch, I decided to bring a meal to you.” I am incredibly touched by his sweet gesture, but it doesn’t seem like it can possibly be lunchtime already.
