Chapter 18

“James! Lyena! Ryan! Where are you all? We are back!”

Adrian shouted as he entered the mansion. James hurriedly came to the living room with Lyena. “Oh! It’s a relief you are back safely” James said to Adrian, as they hugged each other. “How did it go? Was it successful?” He asked. Adrian smiled and nodded.

“Glad you are back” Lyena said smiling. “Let me make something to drink for you” She said and went to the kitchen.

“Where is Ryan?” Noah asked. “Is he not here yet?”

“No, the meeting with our clients didn’t go well. So he had to stay there to make arrangements for our collaboration with another company” James said.

“So…..It was just Lyena and you were here? Alone?” Adrian asked with a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

James knew the underlying meaning there, and tried to act indifferent. “Yes, and what does it have to do with you?” He asked, putting his hands in the pockets of his pants.

“Did anything happen between you two?” He asked, taking a step towards James. He saw James taking a deep breath. He loved teasing his friend.

“What would happen between us?” James asked. He didn’t want to give Adrian any clue.

“Hmm…Should I say the things that might have happened here, one by one?” Adrian asked.

“No need! We all know how your perverted mind works.” James said.

“Then tell me, didn’t anything happen?” Adrian asked. James shook his head. “Well, in that case, I am really disappointed” Adrian said, shaking his head. “I’m glad to disappoint you” James said, giggling.

“Stop it, will you?” Noah said, clearly not enjoying the conversation.

“What is wrong with you?” James asked as he noticed Noah was upset.

“He has been in a mood since we departed from there” Adrian said to James, looking at Noah. “He doesn’t say anything about that.”

“That’s because I don’t want to tell you anything. So stop bothering me” Noah said, annoyed.

“What is it?” James asked, being curious.

“I’ll tell you when I figure it out. Now all I need is to hear myself think” Noah said.

James shook his head looking at Adrian. They knew how close mouthed Noah was when he chose to. “You should change and relax” James said. Noah and Adrian nodded and went to their rooms.
