Avelyn watched Kaden leaving with the guard. She looked at Hayden, who was already looking at her. He tilted his head, and just stared at her.
Hayden couldn’t believe that this girl was The Ghost who became a terrible headache in the underworld. Many tried to capture her, he knew. He himself ordered The Ghost to be killed. Why couldn’t he guess this girl who appeared out of nowhere, was one of his enemies, he wondered.
Avelyn placed her hand on the table and tried to get up. But her injured leg gave up under her weight and she fell back on the ground. She looked up at Hayden, and faked a smile. “Now that you know who I am, I know what you’re going to do. Just get on with it!” She gritted her teeth, glaring at him.
Hayden smirked. He walked towards the table, and took the glass that had been placed on it. Avelyn heard him pouring something in to it, but she couldn’t care less about what he was doing.
“Here, drink this.” She saw that Hayden was holding the filled glass in front of her. She turned her head to the side. ‘Why should I take anything he gives when he is going to torture me?’ “I don’t want it!” She muttered under her breath.
A faint laugh escaped Hayden’s lips. “You need it.” He pushed the glass in her hand.
“I SAID THAT I DON’T NEED IT!” Avelyn smashed the glass on the floor. Water and tiny pieces of glasses splattered everywhere.
Hayden sighed. “Get up!” He looked down at Avelyn who was looking at the ground. “I said GET UP!” Avelyn flinched as he suddenly raised his voice. She was scared. She knew Hayden was not someone to disobey, but what could she do? Her leg just gave up a few moments ago, and she knew that her body couldn’t hold her up at this weak state.
She widened her eyes when Hayden pulled her up by her arm. “Aah!” She let out a shaky breath when she felt the wound in her thigh started hurting with the sudden movement. Before she fell again, Hayden wrapped his one arm around her waist and steadied her. “Can you walk?” Avelyn frowned in confusion; ‘why does he care?’, but nodded anyways.
“Allright, I’m going to take you out from here.” He put Avelyn’s arm around his shoulder and began walking with her, out of the cell.
They hurried their steps when they heard the gunshots. “Mmh” Avelyn groaned when she couldn’t limp her way with Hayden anymore. “My leg….can’t bear it” Her face was twisted in pain.
Hayden turned around to see if any enemy was there. “I’ll carry you then.” Avelyn nodded in reply.
“Hayden! Get in the car!” They heard Nathan shout, and Hayden ran towards the car in full speed with Avelyn in his arms. “Hurry! Hurry!” Jayden, who was running right behind them shouted.
“LET’S GO!” Jayden ordered their men before getting in the car with Nathan.
“Hey! Hey! Wake up!” Hayden patted Avelyn’s cheeks. Her eyes were slowly closing and her head was resting on the headrest of the seat.
“She is losing her conscious!” Nathan exclaimed.
“Let’s get her treated. Hurry up!” Jayden said to their driver.
