"Why? What happened?"
Avelyn shrugged. "I just...didn't take them seriously. Went along with the flow, and the suddenly found I was not in love with him, in each relationship."
"Hmm..."
Hayden seemed to be deep in thoughts. His forehead formed wrinkles, and he swirled the liquid in his fancy glass, staring at it. "I have something to tell you.''
"What is it?"
"I like you."
Avelyn blinked her eyes. "You mean, like in a relationship?"
"Yes." Hayden's eyes scanned Avelyn's eyes for something he didn't even know. Avelyn leaned forward and placed her chin on her palm. "Since when?"
"Since I saw you at the party with James."
"You mean, for six years?"
"Not exactly. At first, I was just interested in the girl who looked like a killer in her red dress. When I saw you with my brother, I got curious. So I did a little investigation about you, though I couldn't find much. Then when we both worked together in projects in business, I developed feelings for you." He looked at Avelyn who was just nodding and listening. "I just wanted to tell you, that's why I-"
"I like you too!" Avelyn grabbed his hand suddenly, cutting his words.
