The Green Marauders thundered over the knoll, firing down at the Mecham cavalry. They were equipped with the newly invented repeating rifles and the men didn"t need to pull their sabers after the first shot was fired.
The Teacher and Brother Philip were in front of the door to the kirche and the Teacher yelled at Brother Randall who was trying to control his horse. “Brother Randall, you and your assistant must join us. There may be a measure of safety inside.”
The horse threw Brother Randall and raced away. The silver-robed Brother dismounted and let his horse add to the confusion in the yard as he dragged Brother Randall through the double doors before the Teacher and Brother Philip banged them shut.
