Chapter 5Sydney was in the alley. She wastalking with a male vampire, and she didn’t sound happy. In fact,she sounded scary. Her stance was threatening, and her voice was low.The fear on the vampire’s face was very clear.
I made to round the corner, but thenSydney pulled out a gun, and my body when cold. Connor’s voice wasloud over the phone, so I switched it off.
The vampire’s eyes widened, and hiswailing got louder.
“Tell me what you know,” Sydneydemanded.
“I swear, I don’t know anything. Ionly started coming here after the club opened. I don’t knowanything before that. It was some business, but that’s all, Iswear.”
Sydney looked from side to side, makingsure they were alone, and I was scared she would see me, but shedidn’t. She raised the gun to the vampire’s chest.
