“Lumi, saan ka pupunta?” Janice asked. “I will get some air,” I said quietly. Janice is getting clingy; we’re not even friends. After that brief moment on the bench, I went back to my usual cold and distant self. We just finished class with Sir Rudy, and as usual, there was a quiz right after. I got a perfect score again. It’s the same cycle every time. I didn’t want to go back to that bench. It only reminded me of pain. So today, I decided to go to the rooftop. As I walked past the students, I could feel their eyes on me like I was some kind of celebrity in the department. I ignored them and kept walking. I needed some air to breathe... and to vape.
