I cleared my throat when I sat across Aki and Jax sat beside me. It couldn’t get any more awkward than it was already.
“Good evening everyone,” Mom said. “I am so glad that we are having dinner together tonight.”
“Thanks for letting me stay for dinner.” Jax told her.
“You’re very much welcome here, dear,” Mom said and Jax smiled at her.
“Hey man,” Aki said. “Thanks for picking Kerra up,”
“Yeah, no sweat bro,” Jax said. “I was actually planning on coming here as well.”
“Oh, really? Why is that?” Aki said.
“There are some things that I wanted to discuss to all of you, you know, about the wedding,” Jax said.
“Can that wait?” Mom said. “Let’s eat first before anything else.”
