Chapter 18 - Under the rainThe Debt Collector and Peter were once again in the car with Sultan in the back still stunned from the shock. They also had the star Alexis had torn from his costume.
The star was now resting securely in The Debt Collector’s pocket after having been inspected with the highest care by an intelligent and observant person whose concentration had been interrupted by an unpredictable and impatient companion.
“What was in the envelope?” Peter asked. “Have you seen it yet? Do you what happened to Alexis? What about Sultan? When do you think he’ll recover?”
A quick look at the dashboard and The Debt Collector remembered the contents of the envelope. Peter followed his gaze and reached for it.
“With your permission,” he said before opening the envelope.
