AmBER POV The knock at the door was firm, deliberate, cutting through the warmth of the room like a blade. The crackling fire seemed to hush in response, and the easy warmt we’d been enjoying vanished into something i didn’t know. Alan froze mid-bite on one of the snacks he'd carried in from the kitchen, his expression darkening instantly. Alek, seated beside me on the sofa, let out a low growl. "Who the hell is now?"
