AMBER POV The golden energy still hummed in my veins, fading embers of the inferno that had surged through me. My limbs trembled with exhaustion, my breath ragged as I knelt on the cold stone floor of the amphitheater. The acrid scent of burnt flesh clung to the air, mixing with the dampness of the night. My head pounded. My heart raced. Every muscle in my body screamed for rest. But I couldn’t stop. Not yet. Francine was gone. For now. But her voice still echoed in my mind, chilling me to the bone. *"See you soon, golden wolf."* A shudder ran down my spine. I clenched my fists, pushing the fear down. There was no time for it.
