That was definitely not how Ellie thought the night would go. Adrenaline pumped through her veins, making it impossible to calm down. Her heart slammed against her chest, and all she could do was continue to breathe in and out, trying to steady herself.
It had been intense and terrifying, and she wondered if that was just another day on the job for Shaun. He had been so calm and collected when the bartender pulled the g*n, he didn’t even flinch.
