"So, your girlfriend just up and left with your demonic ex-fiance on some sort of journey to your Kingdom." Savannah spouted out the moment Alessandro opened his eyes.
She stared into the small slit of his eyes he'd just barely cracked opened. He licked his dry lips, and a horse sound came from his throat as his body tried to regain its bearings.
"I'll just give you a moment," Savannah scootched her plastic chair back but stared at Alessandro. She'd been willing him awake with her eyes for the past two hours to no avail. She wondered if routing coffee through his IV would do the trick, but Melinda threatened to kick her out if Savannah even muttered about doing that again.
