After Jax finished eating, we wandered around the park. I found myself sitting with Evet by one of the fires while Jax went to the bathroom in the Tower and the King and Queen walked around chatting. It was strange to see the King laughing while he spoke to one of the elders. I didn't even know he could do that.
Evet was talking to one of the dead warrior's friends who was laughing and offering shots in memory of his fallen friend. I found out that a few years ago, his friend had tried to challenge Koda, not for a title, but because Koda owned one of the bars in the city, and he wanted it to impress some Fae woman he'd met. But Koda won the fight in seconds and took the girl on a weekend away just to rub it in, I didn't like that part of the story, but the rest was funny.
