JAXSON'S POV
Madelyn had been silent since Koda and Flynn's departure, and I had to admit, that I was feeling a little uneasy myself. It had been a long time since we'd been apart.
I had to get some more work done, and was in my office, while Madelyn went to the library. It was her safe space, and I let her retreat there while I finished up.
But as dinner time approached, I knew I had to go get her, I'd organized a dinner with Evet and Cole tonight to try and distract her, and we had to meet them in an hour, so I went to find her.
She was sitting in one of the corners with her knees up, and a massive book resting on them. I smiled and as she read, her face was getting animated and her eyes widening, whatever she was reading, she was enjoying.
