Adrian did not look at Julian.
"You heard me." Julian's heart sunk in more bitterness. With her filthy clothes and said in a soft voice, "Sir, this joke is not funny at all.'' Adrian sneered and said sharply, "Wasn't it your idea to be married to me all along?" His's stare cut through Julian's sunken face and stared into her eyes.
She turned her head away, but Adrian squeezed her chin and forced her to look at him.Julian then realised that the features under the shades had a cool and beautiful outline.
God definitely favored him because he looked so handsome . Moreover, that black stubble on his jawline brought out his masculinity perfectly.His suit was well-tailored and looked luxurious.Julian could tell this man was a very distinguished person.
Unlike her , she was wearing worn out clothes covered in mold, with shuggy hair and a dirty face.As if that wasnt enough, her body was smelly because she had not showered for days.
The two of them were going to get a marriage certificate? Julian fell weak on her knees softly, "Sir, do you think because I have been in jail for two years and had not seen any man, I would simply marry any random ugly man, even if I had not met him before?”
Adrian could not help it but took another look at her. She was young in her early 20's, but had a sharp tongue, and was extraordinarily calm.
His disgust towards her increased. "Are you deliberately using this method to anger me and to arouse my interest in you?" As soon as he finished,he did not wait for Julian to answer but immediately ordered the driver, "To the city hall!'
"Let me go! I don't even know you!
Julian was pissed and wanted to jump off the car.With a backhand motion, Adrian pinned her against the seat with his elbow, glared at her , and said in a cold voice. "Woman, listen up! You will be dead if you dare to get off the car.Do YOU HEAR ME!" Julian was scared for her life. She had tears rolling in her eyes. "I...don't want to die.please" "To the city hall!" The man ordered again.
"Young Master Adrian, do we go straight to the city hall?" asked the assistant in the front passenger seat. Adrian looked puzzled.
The assistant peaked at Julian as if he was trying to signal Adrian and said bluntly, "Young Mistress' clothes are worn and old, and she looks dirty....
"Return to the Vale Estate then !" The man gave another order..
"Yes, Master Adrian." The driver started the engine. One and half hours later, the car stopped. Julian got out of the car and saw the grand mansion .
It was located halfway up the mountain.There was a difference compared to the mansion located halfway up another mountain that she had seen two days ago.
These one looked like a palace while the masion she saw two days ago looked like prisonish .The man that took her innocence would probably be a death row inmate.She was still lost in her thoughts when Adrian grabbed her wrist.
When he pulled her along to follow him she felt a cold shadow behind her probably because she was much shorter than him.
The maidens in the mansion bowed politely upon seeing the man "Welcome back, Young Master Adrian.
The man led Julian through the main house towards the low-levelled rooms in the yard. He handed Julian to a few maids ,To Theo in particular and said. "Find some clean clothes for her. and let her take a bath,she stinks like hell."
"Yes, Master .' Theo answered and brought Julian to bathroom.
She knew that she must escape from here.She could not be with a man that wished to have her killed but still wanted to get the marriage certificate with her right after she came out from prison.
Julian was lost in her thoughts again that she didn’t realise that Theo had alreadv taken most of her clothes off.
Theo together with the other maids sighed together"Those bruises on her neck seemed to be love bites?"When Julian had got herself back together , she bit her lips and said. "I'm not used to others bath me.
Please leave, and I will bathe myself."One of the maids asked, "You are Young Master Adrian's..."Julian quickly reacted and said.
"Maid!,if you love yourself dont you dare finish that statement" "Bathe yourself then." The maidsturned around and left her impolitely.When they went out, one of the maids let out a cold sigh in a sarcastic way, "I thought she was Young Master Adrian's woman.
She turned out to be only a maid. She looked like an abandoned little creature .
Who did she think she was to let us bath her?"When the maid looked up, she saw Adrian's standing right outside the bathroom. The maid immediately shut her mouth in fear.
In the bathroom, Julian looked at herself in the mirror with her cheeks partially red.Her most precious first time was taken by a man whom she had never even met. In addition, she would never know what he looked like forever.She shut her eyes, and tears fell from her cheeks to her neck. "You really are a filthy woman! You know that." a harsh male voice.Julian opened her eyes in a panic and noticed that Adrian was looking at her neck with disgust.
She covered herself with her clothes. The tears of shame came sliding down her face. "I was just released from prison and you kidn*pped me to here. I don't even know you. No matter how filthy I am, it has nothing to do with you, right? Please get out!"
Adrian's disgusted stare landed on Julian's face. but he could not identify her words or even tell that she was acting.This woman truly was a skilled swindler. Follow me to get our marriage certificate once you're done washing up.
" Twelve months later, I would divorce you, then pay you a certain amount of money. When that time comes, if you wished to stay beside me for even one more second. it would not be possible!" he finished his sentence, he closed the door and left her.
The maids in the yard dared not breathe too loudly because Adrian was present.Three days ago, at this house, all the maids had witnessed how vicious this newly appointed head of the Vale family can be.
Adrian was the first son of his father , and his father was the eldest son of the Senior Vale family. His three brothers and him were not born by the same mother.
He was an illegitimate son. Although the Vale family was a century old noble family, a bustard like Adrian would not have the gut to inherit even a tiny portion of the Vale family's fortune.
In the family, the collateral descendants even had priority over him for inheritance.When he was a teenager, he had been driven into exile.
However, he finally fought his way back one day and managed to return to his country, but found that his mother was imprisoned somehow.
Since then, Adrian had been calculating every step and executing his plan of revenge in secret.Finally, he was able to fake his death four days ago that he was engaged in a counter attack.
As a result, he drove his opponents to an end and had successfully gained control over the whole Vale family.He currently has the final say even over his father. Adrian could only feel coldness in his gut whenever he recalled his past.
His mother did not willingly become the third person in his father's marriage.
It was a trick used by his father's wife to keep his father in their marriage. When Adrian's mother found outthat his father had a family ,she was already nine months pregnant of him.
In order to let her son grow up in the company of parents, his mother had no choice but to stay by his father's side and suffered humiliation in silence.
She was even framed and imprisoned when she was in her middle age. When Adrian finally gained control of the whole family and got his mother out of prison, she only had three months to live.
His mother only had one wish.Just one. She wanted him to take her cellmate .Julian Ven ,as his bride.Adrian had no choice but could only obey her wish, seeing that his mother did not have much time left.
The night before he decided to take Julian out of prison, he had his men do an intense investigation about her.
The results showed that this woman had a hidden agenda for getting closer to his mom.
"Is something wrong Sir Adrian?"the maids concern question interrupted his thoughts.Adrian's gaze instantly turned serious.
"What are you panicking about?"Before he even answered,he had a shout"That woman... escaped by jumping out of the window." the maid said in all fear.
