Chapter 3

It felt like I had blinked and it was already Wednesday. I woke up and checked my phone, just after ten. There was a text from Noah. I unlocked the screen and read the message. “Morning! It’s finally Wednesday. Let’s meet at the pizza place on 16th St. at one. Can’t wait to see you.”  Alright, Frankie, today’s the day. You get to enjoy lunch with the hottest guy you’ve ever seen, pay your half, and then tell him you are only eighteen, and still in high school. Just the thought of it had my stomach in nervous knots. I sent Noah a quick text telling him I’d be there at one and climbed out of bed for a quick shower. I got out and wrapped a towel around myself and one around my hair. I brushed my teeth and washed my face then headed to pick out my clothes.  Lunch is casual and a pizzeria super casual. I put on a pair of jeans, my cropped long sleeve V-neck shirt and my black chucks. I went back to the bathroom and blow-dried my long brown hair. I decided to wear my hair down and quickly put some beach waves in it. I never wore a lot of makeup so I went with my normal routine of tinted moisturizer, mascara and tinted lip gloss. I looked at myself in the mirror “Alright Francesca time to get yourself out of the mess you put yourself in.” I grabbed my phone and keys and headed out the door. Parking in this part of the city was always a pain. I ended up taking the first spot I saw and welcomed the almost three blocks I had to walk. It would give me time to hopefully calm myself down so I didn’t word vomit, or even real vomit, as soon as I opened my mouth. As I waited for the light to turn I looked up and saw him. I’m not sure if he could tell that I was looking at him through my sunglasses but I saw him looking at me. His mouth hung open a little at first but he soon regained his composure and the look of lust in his eyes was hard to ignore. I felt my heart start to race and my core clench. Aw crap. I had just managed to calm myself down. The light turned green and the crowd of people I was with started moving to cross the street. As soon as my foot touched the curb Noah was right there. I looked up at him and smiled, “You’re early,” I said. "As are you. Shall we?”  He placed his hand on the small of my back and I swear I felt sparks. It was the same heat I felt when I grabbed his hand to write my number on it. I immediately thought of how his hands would feel in other places on my body. We walked into the pizzeria and were greeted by the hostess. “Two?” “Yes. And if we can have a booth in the back please.” Noah said. We followed the hostess, she placed our menus on the table and we took our seats. I glanced at the menu and could feel eyes on me. I looked up to find Noah just staring. “Are you ok?” I asked him. He chuckled. “Yeah sorry. I’m just realizing I’ve never seen you without your work hat on. With your hair down you look like a Greek goddess.” I scrunched my nose and shook my head. “You’re crazy. It’s just hair! Maybe I should’ve shown up in my work uniform to keep you focused. I, on the other hand, am always used to seeing you look this good.”Noah blushed a little taken back by my boldness then laughed.  “Trust me. I’m extremely glad you didn’t show up in that baggy shirt and hat. I mean don’t get me wrong you’re beautiful in your uniform but absolutely gorgeous like this.”  Before I had time to respond the waitress came over and took our order. I laughed on the inside because I don’t think she even noticed me sitting there. And who could blame her? Noah ordered a beer and we agreed upon sharing a large combo pizza. As the waitress walked away I had to call out to her.  “Oh, and can I have a coke please.” She turned around finally realizing I was also sitting at the table.   “Oh god I’m sorry. Sure.” Noah looked over and smiled at me. “Alright, Frankie. Tell me about yourself.”  Aw crap. “Um well, there isn’t much to tell really. I go to school, I work and I live at home still. What else would you like to know?” The waitress dropped our drinks off and he looked up and thanked her.  “Tell me about school. What are you studying?” “Oh, I haven’t picked a major. Just general education for now.” God, I hate lying.  “Ok and you say you live with your family? Do you have siblings?” “No, I’m an only child so it’s just me and my parents. My mom is Sicilian and moved here when she was fifteen. My dad was born and raised here in the city, a big Irish Catholic family.” I replied. “So I was wrong to say Greek Goddess I should’ve said Italian. That's awesome though. Do you speak Italian?” “Fluently. When my mom’s mad she usually screams in Italian so it was easy enough to learn. I mostly respond in English though so my dad can keep up.” I joked, kind of. “How about you?” “Well, I’m from Orange County originally. Parents still live down there. I speak Japanese thanks to my mom and Spanish.” “Wow, that’s awesome. So you’re part Japanese?” I asked.  “Well, my mom is half. Her mother taught her and she taught me. My dad’s ethnicity is just a Euro mix. And that’s how you get this.” He motioned with his hand up and down his body. “And there’s nothing wrong with that.” I blurted and he smiled. “So um how long have you been in the Bay Area?” “I moved here for college. SF State. I made great friends, formed the band and never left.” “And do you live alone?”  He looked at me for a moment and then quickly replied “No. I have a roommate.”  Right when he finished speaking the waitress came and dropped off our pizza. We ate for a bit in silence until he spoke.  “So do you plan on staying in the city? You said you’re taking general classes so is it safe to assume you’re at city college.” “Uh, yeah, city college. I’ll be there for at least another year. So what do you do for work?” I quickly tried to change the subject back to him to avoid answering any more questions like that. “I’m actually between jobs. So this summer I’ve been working as a personal trainer.” “Sounds fun. Maybe I need to start going to your gym so you can whip my butt into shape.” I said as a joke. He looked at me and I watched as his eyes looked over my body. So far this lunch had been going good, was he going to be a d**k now and pick out my flaws.  “Frankie, your ass is perfect and there is not one thing I would ever change about you. One shouldn’t mess with perfection.”  My mouth dropped open a little and I didn’t have a clue as to how to respond. I’ve never been left speechless but here I was.  “Is that what you tell all the women you train to help boost their self esteem?” “No, I’ve never met or seen anyone like you before. And if I told clients that I'd probably have a harassment suit filed on me. You have to know you’re the reason I’m drinking three to four smoothies a week. I mean those things are really bad for you, they’re a complete gimmick as far as health food goes.”  “So you mean to tell me you hate the smoothies I make you?” I said as I faked being hurt by his words. “You know you could’ve saved a few bucks and asked me out way before now. Especially since Friday is my last day.” “You’re retiring from Smoothie Palace already? Going to live off the millions you made this summer?” “Oh yes definitely! No, old school parents. When school is in session that’s my job. But I don’t mind. It leaves me with lots of free time to see what kind of trouble I can get into.” I looked at him and c****d my eyebrow giving him a slight smile. “I’m pretty sure if we put our minds together you and I could think of something.” He said as he licked his lips. We got the check and he insisted on paying. He wouldn’t even let me leave the tip. As we walked down the street I knew there was no way I was going to be able to break down and tell him the truth. I liked him but worse, I wanted him. Why did I screw this up so badly when he asked me my age? Damn me and my mouth.   “What is running through that pretty head of yours?” “Honestly, you.”He stopped walking and pulled me over to the side of the street by the alley entrance.  “What about me?”I bit my bottom lip and looked up at him. Noah made a low groan  “f**k it.”He said while grabbing my arm and pulling me towards him. Feeling him pressed against me made my breath quicken and my core clenched  “Noah” I practically moaned. And then his mouth was on mine as he pressed me harder into him. His hands around my back quickly made their way to my ass. He squeezed then dropped his hands to my thighs pulling my legs up. I wrapped them around his waist.  Soon he had me where I was eye level to him. We looked at each other and that was it. Our mouths once again collided. He took a few steps forward and I felt the concrete wall against my back. We were far enough in the alley where it provided us a little bit of privacy. I opened my mouth a little and his tongue invaded mine. I can’t believe this is happening. He feels and tastes so good. I nibbled his lip and felt him move his hips pressing his groin into my core. As I felt his erection I tilted my head back and a moan escaped my lips. He then began kissing and sucking on my neck. His hand had found its way under my shirt and was massaging my breast and teasing my n****e. My hips rotated to match his rhythm. I ran my fingers through his hair gently pulling his head back so his eyes met mine. “What the f**k are you doing to me," He said as I smiled at him. He kissed me gently on the lips and then set my feet back on the ground. We straightened ourselves up and made our way back to my car.  “This is me,” I said.  “When can I see you again?”  “Hopefully soon.” “If I had it my way I’d take you back to my place now but my roommate is working from home today and probably wouldn’t appreciate the noise.”  He smiled down at me and leaned in for a kiss. This one was slow and gentle. When we broke away I looked up at him “Even if we don’t get to do this again just know I had the best time with you.” “We’ll definitely get to do this again and again and again.” He grabbed my hand and looked me straight in the eyes. “Goodbye, Frankie.”  “Goodbye Noah.” As I drove away I could still feel his lips on mine. I knew this would be the last time I'd see him. I'm too embarrassed to tell him that I lied about my age. I could only imagine what he would say when I told him I was in high school and not college. My job was the only connection we had and in two days that would be over as well. One thing I know for sure is I would never forget this summer thanks to him.
