I tossed the last blouse into my suitcase and zipped it shut with more force than necessary. The hotel room was too quiet and I was frankly tired of it already. Staying there was never meant to be long term. I had come there to hide, but and now, it felt like a cage. I needed to get back home, regroup and disappear for a while like Blackwell said. I should be out of this hotel before noon. My phone buzzed again on the dresser— probably Susan trying to reason with me again. I didn’t even glance at it.
