I shut the door behind me, harder than I meant to. The slam echoed through the apartment, but I ignored it, leaning against the door while trying to catch my breath. The flat was dark, with only the rays of light coming from the moon outside spilling in through the windows. I didn’t bother to turn the lights on since I couldn’t stand to look at myself now.
