I had left the hospital early and spent the rest of the day in a bar, drinking myself to a pulp, sleeping it off, and waking up with a debilitating headache. Yet, I was still unwilling to return home too soon, and very angry with Kent. The day sped by. And as it got pretty late, the bartender gave me a note. It was time to leave. I could see the rain ravaging the space outside. It came down in long, shivering lines across the windshield as I drove home, the city lights bending and warping behind the droplets.
