My eyes peeled open to the relentless sound of my ringing landline. I didn't know I had cried myself to sleep in the bathtub. Grudgingly, I tried to stand but the weight of my body pushed me down. “s**t,” I grunted, but by then the telephone had gone to voicemail. ‘You have reached Kimberly Woods’ residence.
